Angus Pumpe
Angus was born in Melbourne, Australia. The travel bug bit him early, and he began travelling straight out of college at the age of 21. He travelled extensively through Canada and America and spent two seasons as a Ski Instructor on Whistler Mountain in Canada. Then he headed to Europe and worked as Driver/Tour Leader for a tour company offering Group Tours starting in the United Kingdom and running throughout Europe. It was a natural decision that the next continent to explore would be Africa. Angus joined an Overland Company as a Driver in the early 90’s and ran many trips from London, through the Middle East, and into East Africa and Southern Africa. When the Nomadic existence ended, Angus chose to stay in Zimbabwe and continued to work in the Management side of Overland tours before branching out and starting his own company, running tours in Southern Africa. He has been in Africa for over 25 years and has built up an in-depth understanding of Africa and a deep passion for helping others experience Africa. He chose Zimbabwe to be home after meeting and marrying Jenni in 2005. Together, they have called Victoria Falls home for the past 16 years.
Sam Zimkalula
Sam was born in Zimbabwe in a small farming town to the North of Harare. As a young man straight out of college, he met Angus by chance and was introduced to the tourism industry, and he has been working in tourism since then. At this meeting, he became determined to become an Overland Driver, so he began by doing a cooking course to become a Camp cook on Overland Safaris. He proceeded to do a mechanics course before finally achieving his goal of becoming an Overland Driver and both driving and tour leading groups around Southern Africa into countries including Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Malawi, Zambia and Mozambique. Sam and Angus have worked together for 20 years. Over the years, Sam has moved into the office as a consultant and manager. However, he still loves to go out on the road to share his passion for Africa, its people, and the natural environment. With his deep knowledge and understanding of Africa, along with his fabulous sense of humour and people skills, Sam is often cited as a highlight of any tour.
Jenni Pumpe
Jenni was born in Zimbabwe and grew up in a small town in the South-Eastern part of the country. Growing up surrounded by bush and close to one of the wildest National Parks in Zimbabwe, Gonarezhou, meant a childhood exposed to all the wonders of the African bush and led to a deep passion and love for the bush from a very early age. After finishing University, Jenni spent a few years as a Tour Leader for Overland Companies and ran trips into East Africa and around Southern Africa, specifically Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia. Having spent many years working as a teacher, her love of people is evident, and her love of the bush naturally evolved into tourism and working with Angus in their small tourism company.
